Erin Walton, LL.B., M.A., RP
I was in a used bookstore in Seattle when I picked up a book that would ignite a passion for counselling and psychology. Two years later and after over a decade as a lawyer, I decided to pursue my Masters in Counselling Psychology. I'm so grateful to have found my passion, and to be able to share in the growth and healing of my clients. I bring this passion for helping others as well as my previous professional experience to my therapist role
I provide therapy to individuals 18 years and older. I aim to provide compassionate, non-judgmental support, collaboratively creating a plan to meet your individual needs. My work integrates a number of therapeutic modalities, including ACT, mindfulness, ego state-therapy, CBT, person-centred, and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). I recently completed a comprehensive training in DNMS (the Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy) and often use this model alongside EMDR.
I completed my masters in counselling psychology with Yorkville University, and am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) as a Registered Psychotherapist.
I also hold a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Guelph, and a Law Degree from Osgoode Hall Law School.
